How Are Winners Selected?

We believe in letting the audience have a voice! Here's how it works:

We’ve designed a dynamic, multi-phase experience to spotlight filmmakers, build audience engagement, and give your project the attention it deserves. We’re proud to give filmmakers the stage they deserve — on screen, in front of a national audience, and with a shot at winning cash and recognition. Here's how the process unfolds:

Submission Phase

Open Call: June 1 – July 27, 2025

  • Submissions are accepted through our official entry portal.

  • Once the final deadline closes, our team reviews all eligible entries.

Official Selections & Film Launch (August 1)

  • All selected films will be announced and released simultaneously on Diamond Flix TV starting August 1, 2025.

  • This gives every film an equal opportunity to shine and collect votes during the same period.

  • Each film will aired on the Diamond Flix TV platform, with promotional highlights across our social media. Some films will be showcased on Short Flim Saturdays and on our Diamond Flix Reel Room TV show where we air the film and have discussions about them.

Audience Voting Breakdown

Phase 1: Open Voting

  • Voting Window: August 1 – August 11, 2025

  • Viewers can vote once per day for their favorite film.

  • At the end of this phase, the Top 10 films with the most verified votes will move on to the finals.

Phase 2: Finalist Round

  • Voting Window: August 12 – August 22, 2025

  • Voting resets to zero. Only the 10 finalists are eligible.

  • Viewers vote again to decide the Grand Prize Winner.

Phase 3: Winner Reveal

  • Awards Show: August 31, 2025

  • Winners will be announced during the awards show, Diamond Flix Short Film Awards Showcase. 

Films will be aired on Diamond Flix TV & Audience will vote for their choices

We’ll showcase your film and your story across our platforms — including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook — with trailers, behind-the-scenes moments, and filmmaker interviews. You’ll be tagged and mentioned to help grow your following.

Featured Segments in Our Awards Show
If your film is voted into the top tier, you’ll be featured during our live-streamed awards presentation, giving you a spotlight moment to connect with fans and industry professionals.

Live Viewing Events
Select films may also be showcased at in-person viewing events hosted at restaurants, lounges, and creative spaces — complete with audience engagement, filmmaker shoutouts, and networking opportunities.

National Streaming Exposure
Your film will be streamed on Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, and more via the Diamond Flix TV app, bringing your work to a nationwide (and growing) audience.

Bottom line: We don’t just take your submission — we take your journey seriously.

Submission Rules & Entry Terms

  • Runtime Limit: Films must be 40 minutes or less.

  • Completed Work Only: All films must be completed prior to submission.

  • Submission Format: Private Vimeo/YouTube links or downloadable files only.

  • Minimum Quality: Must be at least 720p with clear audio.

  • Subtitles: Non-English films must include English subtitles.

  • Marketing Rights: By submitting, you grant Diamond Flix TV the right to use film materials (poster, trailer, clips) for promotion.

  • Copyright: You must have full legal rights to the film and its content.

  • Screening Format: If selected for live events, a downloadable high-resolution or DCP copy may be requested.

  • Content Policy: We reserve the right to disqualify any film deemed inappropriate or non-compliant.

  • Judging Finality: Voting results and jury decisions are final.
